Hey folks,
Hope you are doing well.
It has been a tough 2021 with everyone dealing with the pandemic, stricter laws, banned travel and so on — but the upside is that if you are reading this, you are still here. I have mostly been taking it a day at a time, taking comfort in books and meditating mostly. I would love to hear from you all how you are treating yourselves at these times.
What’s changed since the last time
New article
This week, I wanted to share some thoughts with you on how to create a culture of innovation, a topic inspired by a question a friend had on Twitter
How do you motivate your team to be more creative/innovative?
No simple answer to this but I put down my thoughts in an article that you can find on my website over here.
What I’m reading
Since it’s been super cold in Cape Town, I have been reading quite a bit. My most notable books in the past month are;
Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel ~ talks about our relationships with money and the things we don’t see.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson ~ talks about our relationships with ourselves.
I can’t recommend these books enough, I will hopefully do a book review if I can.
What I’m listening to
The incomparable Dave Santan has been on heavy heavy rotation this week and will be for the rest of the year. Dave’s upbringing enables him to take his audience on a cinematic journey with a diverse range of topics. He talks about gang activity & relations, biracial relationships and has a unique take on England and its policies towards migrants. Expect to hear an array of sounds from drill, afro-beats, elements of Jamaican bashment, pop and most importantly 🔥 bars.

Thanks for your time 🙂
I am on the hunt for other great books, podcasts, music, movies so would love to hear what your suggestions are. I can’t commit to a particular schedule but will mostly share once I have a bunch of ideas and thoughts that I’d like to share with you.
