The power of kind words
Say something nice to someone this week
Hey friend,
I write this in hopes to get you up and about for the new week ahead. To be quite honest, it really gives me a boost. If I can help you in some shape or form to get through your week that's a bonus.
As part of my meditation practice, I take out a few minutes in the day to question, "What am I appreciative for in my life today?". This is a reminder of the benefits of reflection, appreciation and being kind to yourself. This is a great tool you can practice for yourself.
You can take this a step further by sending a kind message to a friend, family member or colleague. Last week I got a really sweet message from an ex-colleague and it really jolted my spirits and gave me the juice I needed for the next day. Send these out without expectation of reciprocity and you will feel that much better or at least good Karma will come your way.
Be kind this week. Have a great week ahead.
Highlights
New article
This week, I wanted to share some thoughts with you on how I bounce back from the negative thoughts that creep up in my week. We all go through it so I put down my thoughts in an article that you can find on my website over here.
What I am reading
Man’s Search for Meaning ~ I completed this book about a week ago. Not the easiest of reads, but it’s packed with a very important teaching that you can carry with you the rest of your life. Please find my full review should that be of interest to you.
Almanack of Naval Ravikant ~ Currently reading this gem which is a collection and curation of Naval’s wisdom from Twitter, Podcasts, and Essays over the past decade. If you don’t know him, you are in for a treat.
What I am listening to
Gold-Diggers Sound by Leon Bridges. A nostalgic, timeless RnB feel from a Texan soul singer makes for a great listen.
If you haven’t, check out my last dispatch on procrastination
Till next time, have a great week ahead :)
